Bio

I am a postdoctoral research associate at the Climate Systems Engineering Initiative, part of the Institute for Climate and Sustainable Growth at the University of Chicago, hosted by Prof. Tiffany Shaw and Prof. Da Yang. Broadly, I am interested in uncovering the physical mechanisms that govern climate variability and shape its predictability.

Before joining UChicago, I completed my Ph.D. in Oceanography at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego, in July 2025. I received my B.Sc. with Honors in Atmospheric Sciences from the School of Physics, Peking University, in July 2020. As a student, I was fortunate to be mentored by Prof. Shang-Ping Xie and Prof. Nicholas Lutsko at Scripps, Prof. Yongyun Hu at PKU, and Prof. Eli Tziperman at Harvard. They, along with many supportive colleagues, not only taught me valuable knowledge and skills but also helped me discover the joy of scientific research.
